Blue Marble Storytellers is a community of writers backed by Blue Marble Publishing.
We are a small independent publishing company with the goal of creating great stories and publishing them in a variety of forms, whether traditional hard copy book, online e-book, or audiobook.
We are also keen to explore other ways of storytelling, including the use of illustrations and artwork alongside the text to provide interesting combinations that readers will find engaging.
Like many small, dedicated publishers, our aim is to provide a supportive environment for our writers. We hope to be an alternative to the literary agent “gate-keeper” or the submit-reject cycle of larger publishers or the daunting challenges of self-publishing.
BACKGROUND
Blue Marble Storytellers is the brainchild of Russell Norman and Deidra Whitt Lovegren who first met in 2021 and started the podcast Read Lots Write Lots. In each episode, Deidra and Russell talk to writers about their writing journey.
Blue Marble Publishing grew out of this collaboration, primarily to provide a path for publishing for both their own work and the work of other like minded individuals.
The fundamental ethos of Blue Marble Publishing is that, on balance, the whole process needs to be fun. In short, if it’s not fun, we don’t do it!
We also strongly believe in the notion that we exist to support the writers and not the other way around. Encouraging writers and other creative talent is central to everything we do.
